MM Visa | Skilled Migration
The most essentialrequirement for migrating to a country is Visa which known to all. But when applying for visa, one need to be sure of the type of visa required which would vary depending upon the objective of visiting another country. It could be for the purpose of business or a short trip. While planning to migrate to Australia for work, you are required to be eligible for migration under the Skilled Visa Program which could be permanent or temporary. For this, you must be qualified in a profession or trade occupation which appears on the Australian Government's Skilled Occupations List.

Applicants are generally assessed against a Points Test which incorporates the basic selection criteria as well as other factors for which you can obtain additional or bonus points towards your final score. To be successful, you must achieve the pass mark.

Skilled Migration Program comprises of six (6) main visa subclasses.

Permanent

1. Skilled Independent Visa

Overseas applicants who meet the applicable pass mark of the points test that applies to this visa are eligible to live in Australia as a permanent resident.

2. Skilled Sponsored Visa

The Skilled Sponsored Visa is basically meant to address the skill shortages existing in a state or territory and thus encourages a more balanced dispersal of Australia's skilled migrant intake.

3. Skilled Regional (Residence) Visa

This type of permanent visa is provided to applicants who have lived at least two years and worked full time for 12 months in a specific regional area of Australia.

Temporary

4. Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa

This visa addresses the skill shortages that exist in regional areas of Australia. Successful applicants (and their families) will be allowed to work and live in Australia for up to three years. However, they may also be able to apply for the permanent stage of this visa after they have lived for two years and worked for one year in the regional area.

5. Skilled Graduate Visa

This temporary visa allows overseas students that have recently completed their course but are unable to apply for skilled migration to live and work in Australia for 18 months in order to build upon their work experience and English skills.

6. Skilled Recognized Graduate Visa

Graduates of recognized overseas universities with skills needed in Australia can apply for this 18 month temporary visa, providing unrestricted work and study rights. Visa holders can apply for permanent residence at any time through General Skilled, or, Employer Sponsored migration.
